  • Why southeast APC leaders are afraid to campaign for Buhari – Ohanaeze Youth Council

    – Ohanaeze Youth Council said southeast
APC leaders are afraid to openly campaign
    for President Buhari
    – The Igbo youth group said many of the
southeast leaders have lost touch with Igbo
voters and are afraid of being attacked by
    youths
    – The OYC added that both the APC and PDP
southeast leaders are no longer influential
and are merely deceiving President Buhari
    and Atiku
    Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has
alleged that the southeast leaders of the
    All Progressives Congress (APC) are
afraid to openly campaign for President
    Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election for
fear of being attacked by youths,
    especially Biafra agitators.
The Guardian reports that the Igbo youth
group made this allegation in a statement
    released after their meetings in
    Abakaliki, Ebonyi state, on Thursday,
    January 10.
    The national president of OYC,
Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said many of the
leaders have lost touch with Igbo voters
because of many years of neglect.

The group promised that it will ensure
the safety of President Buhari and the
    presidential candidate of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) when they take
    their campaigns to the southeast.
The OYC further alleged that the
    southeast leaders are merely deceiving
Both Buhari and Atiku “as many of them
can no longer influence Igbo votes in their
    polling units or southeast generally.”
The statement reads in part: “Ohanaeze
youths will guarantee the safety of
    President Buhari and former Vice
    President Atiku Abubakar whenever they
come to campaign in the southeast, as the
Forum of Biafra Agitators has assured us
that nobody would be attacked during this
    campaign period, irrespective of Operation
    Python Dance III.
“We insist that Igbo leaders are deceiving
both Buhari and Atiku, as many of them
can no longer influence Igbo votes in their
    polling units or southeast generally.”
